STEINE SETZEN  /  SETTING STONES

In meiner Werkstatt arbeite ich mit Sandsteinen, die nach dem Rückbau von Gebäuden von uns geborgen wurden. Sie weisen Verwitterungs- und Arbeitsspuren auf. Ihre Vereinzelung ermöglicht eine Setzung in andere Umgebungsräume. Die Rauheit der Oberfläche ist ein Wesensmerkmal. Mit der Zeit siedeln sich auch Flechten und Moose an und bilden einen eigenen Lebensraum.

I work with pieces of sandstone which were once part of the landscape and later on a part of a building as a brick. Traces of weathering and work mark the stones. After their release and within their isolation, it is possible to set them into different surrounding areas. The roughness of the surface is essential, therefore moss and lichen settle there. They form an habitat on their own.
